As you know from FOCUS, service is important to us here at Valparaiso. This opportunity will give you a chance to get off campus for a couple of hours to volunteer with a local nonprofit.
Transportation will be provided.

What: Welcome Week Service Project
Where: Gabis Arboretum
When: Tuesday, August 25, 2026 for a 2.5 hour shift
(These shifts list the time we will be leaving campus and arriving back)
8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Project Details:
We will be helping with gardening and trail care.
Where to Meet: Please arrive at the Harre Union 15 minutes prior to your selected shift to check in. We will be meeting in the Harre Union Atrium by the S couch and Welcome Desk.
What to Wear and Bring: Dress for the weather, pants are highly recommended as we may be working in high weeds, wear close-toed shoes, and bring a water bottle. Tools will be provided, but volunteers can bring their own gloves if preferred.
